Nothing has been revealed regarding the early life and history of the woman known as Blackwing. Using an identity previously created by Joseph Manfredi, Blackwing appeared as a member of Manfredi's private army of super-villains, Heavy Mettle. She and the rest of the group, attacked the New Warriors to obtain Turbo's costume. Heavy Mettle was defeated and sent to jail, except their field leader Firestrike. During Dark Reign Blackwing was tricked by Hood and Taskmaster into training with the Initiative for their "Shadow Initiative." However, the Shadow Initiative had been changed to become cannon fodder meant to weaken the enemy in the next mission (taking Prison 42 from the remnants of King Blastaar's army) before the Heavy Hitters of Osborn's Initiative finished the job. Blackwing participated in the attack either in ignorance or because she knew she would be killed if she tried to quit. She was shot down in the ensuing fight. Blackwing wears Joseph Manfredi's old suit of body armor. Devices in his costume give her the power of flight for short distances via directed motion hovering. The suit has been upgraded with stolen power-suit weapon systems, enabling Blackwing to shoot energy blasts.

SFX: Flyby. Against a single target, step up or double a Blackwing Flight Harness die. Remove the highest rolling die and use three dice for the total.
SFX: Multipower. Add more than one Blackwing Flight Harness power die to a pool. Step back each Blackwing Flight Harness power die in that pool once for each die beyond the first.
Limit: System Failure. Shutdown a Blackwing Flight Harness power to step up the lowest die in the doom pool or add a D6 doom die. Spend a doom die to recover that power.
